Zahagrin was born on the high plains. When he was a child his village was attacked and destroyed by slavers. His parents were killed, leaving him and his brother Hadrogar in the hands of the slavers.
After serving a few years, Hadrogar was finally sold to a Fighter Lord named Grigori Naflanx. He was to be groomed to be his new prize fighter in the gladitorial games. Zahagrin was devastated to see his last family torn from him.
A few months later, on a trip to the coastal city of Ligdensport, Blanfig Hortarus, Zahagrin’s owner got into an argument with a local Merchant Lord. During the dispute Zahagrin was forced to kill the Merchant Lord. After the scuffle Blanfig fled the town with Zahagrin.
Over the next few months Blanfig was hounded by Ligdensport authorities and he finally decided he was too conspicuous traveling with the minotaur. Shortly after, at a small fishing community he came across the pirate Sarsku who was looking to restaff his ship. Sarsku saw the potential in having the minotaur aboard so he purchased him.
Over the next few years Zahagrin became to love the somewhat freedom the sea gave him. Even though he was technically still a slave and not able to leave ship most of the time, he absolutely loved the open seas. During his time aboard Sarsku’s ship he was taught swordplay and seamanship. Sarsku became a mentor to Zahagrin, and soon they were almost inseparable.
After a few years Sarsku decided to help Azerfall in their battle with the Fungal invasion. During the brief war Zahagrin proved his worth to Sarsku by saving the pirate’s life when he took a spear that was meant to kill the pirate captain.
After the war Sarsku granted Zahagrin his official freedom from slavery. He was allowed to leave the ship whenever he wanted. Shortly after he decided it was time to try to find out what happened to his brother. He took leave of Sarsku, but vowed to return whenever the Pirate Lord needed his assisstance.
